- She is a talented actress, model, artist and film producer.
- Some of the movies she has been in include: Kung Fu Panda, Kill Bill, Charlie’s Angels and Chicago.
- She was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series and a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series for her role in Ally McBeal.
- For her role in the series Southland she won Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Drama Guest Actress.
- In 2008 she starred in the TV show Cashmere Mafia, this show was one of only a few American television shows to have an Asian American series lead.
- Currently she is portraying the character Joan Watson in the TV show Elementary.
- She holds a bachelor’s degree in Asian languages and cultures.
- She has appeared in the TV shows Ugly Betty, Sex And The City, Futurama and The Simpsons.
- In 1989 she was a member of the Basement Arts student-run theater group and auditioned for the University of Michigan’s production of Alice in Wonderland during her senior year of college and was cast as the lead role, although she had originally tried out for only a supporting part.
- She made her New York stage debut in Fairy Bones, directed by Tina Chen in 1992.
